Summer term – new projects
Summer term projects are under way now and the pressure is off because of the new, later date set for the exhibition. We have lots of time to get inspired by the vibrant summer colours around us in this beautiful corner of the world. The S3 Academy pupils have had their art work judged : the winning entry was flowers by Isla Carson

New Year News
We are well into the new term now with memories of Christmas festivities fading. So, just a reminder of the lovely festive lunch we shared, with members old and new and guests. Our “celebrity” guest was former member Jean who reminded us of how the group started -a small nucleus of keen artists in Newburgh going out sketching over thirty years ago. With no fixed abode, the group was in need of a meeting place, and after a few years joined with some Ellon enthusiasts and EDAG was born. Jean was one of those original members and only recently retired from the group at the grand old age of ninety.
This year, for various reasons, we are moving our exhibition date from May/June to October so there is lots of time to get absorbed in projects, try new techniques, and develop our skills.
We are always looking to welcome new members and expand the group, so if you are interested, or know someone who might be, please get in touch and find out more

Autumn session
End of term is rapidly approaching; only one more art session and then Christmas lunch to look forward to on December 13th. We have welcomed two new members this session and we now have an interesting mix of styles, which is great for sharing ideas.

MacMillan Coffee Morning
We took a break from our artistic endeavours yesterday and, instead enjoyed a coffee and delicious home bakes morning with friends. Donations for MacMillan Cancer Support reached over £270 – well done to the organisers and thanks to all who contributed in any way. Back to our projects next week

Summer outings
Two summer outings were well attended. Some of this sedate looking group at Aden Park went on to have quite an evening.
A sunny, if blustery morning was enjoyed at Cruden Bay, followed by a very tasty lunch, and some of us even got down to some art!
